The Desperate Marketer That Refuses To Learn
Dear Marketer, Read This Or You’re Doomed
As a marketer since 2012, I tried every trick there is in the book to try to get friends, family, and strangers to join all the companies I failed in. I put every company on my back as if I built it myself. In the end, I wasn’t able to earn a dime. Every approach to prospects was a weak and desperate attempt to get people to join the opportunity or be a customer.
All of my tactics didn’t work and it was frustrating the sh*t out of me. “I don’t know what else to do. How can I make these programs work for me?” I would say to myself. I was trying to build multiple programs at a time. I was on the brink of giving up looking for another alternative.
But I didn’t give up. Eventually, I was able to get the help I needed to succeed, and it took a lot of reprogramming to get where I needed to be. In this article, you’re going to get a crash course on how to market more effectively and eliminate all the frustrations you have in building your business.
First Step To Marketing
To this day I still people starting these network marketing programs still trying to pitch opportunities to me on Facebook talking about how great their opportunities are and how it’s “The next best thing to sliced bread” and I’m saying to myself “Wow! I used to use these same fake used car salesmen tactics”.
One thing I learned about MLM is most of the affiliates treat their program like it’s a cult. They use manipulation to get people interested. None of their focus is on personal branding. This is the first step to marketing. This is going to be a hard pill for you to swallow but if you want to succeed in your company and get good at selling, you have to stop selling.
You are the brand. The company you put on your back should be an afterthought. You need to learn how to build a know, like, and trust relationship with the people you approach. These 3 things aren’t just given, they are earned.
Who’s Your Ideal Customer?
I made this mistake and everyone else who started for the first time made the same mistake. You need to get clear about who’s your target market. What are their pains, questions, and challenges?
Your issue is that you’re marketing your product to everyone who’s probably not interested in what you sell to them. If you’re marketing meat, are you going to market it to a vegetarian? Of course not.
Connect With People On A Emotional Level
When people buy something, it’s out of emotion, not logic. Every commercial you ever watched that advertised a product or service built that relationship and connected with you on an emotional level.
You have to focus on what you want your ideal customer to feel when buying your product or service. Will your ideal customer get the respect he wants from friends or family? Will they be worshipped by their spouse buying your product or service?
There needs to be an emotional connection behind what you’re selling to your dream customer. If you just tell them “It’s a great opportunity, you won’t find this offer anywhere else.”, they’ll have very little to no interest.
But if you tell them “Your family will worship the ground you walk on. Your friends will finally give you the respect you deserve, and you’ll finally feel good about yourself.”, you have their attention.
