Dominate Social Media Marketing Through Branding
My Social Media Journey
The first time I started marketing my 1st network marketing business on social media, I was f*cking pumped up and ready to get it moving so that I could get as many sign-ups as possible.
The company I was promoting if you move up to senior vice president you get what was called a car allowance. They reward affiliates with a brand-new BMW. You use the allowance to pay the car note.
When you move to the highest level, you get a brand new Bently. “Yo! I’m going to dominate this business and retire myself and my family because we need that money.”
I said to myself. I jumped on Facebook immediately chasing and hounding all of my friends and family.
All of them said “No” or “Let me give it some thought.” When that didn’t work, I chased strangers and bugging the sh*t out of them.
Most of them never bothered answering my messages or told me to leave them alone. I was so obsessed over the outcome and when it wasn’t going as planned, it drove me insane.
I went from one business opportunity to another using social media to build a team that no one was interested in.
It worried me thinking to myself “Maybe I should give this up and rely on that paycheck and climb the corporate ladder?” Because I had no idea how to use Facebook and other platforms to build a business and I needed help fast!
This probably sounds all too familiar and if it is, you’re going to learn from the mistakes I made and what you need to focus on when using social media to grow your brand.
First Step To Selling
You probably heading to those same pitfalls I did where you put the company on your back, wear the t-shirts, drink out of the company coffee mug, and post it on Facebook. Every post you create is always something like “This company is great! I want to share an amazing opportunity that’s going to pay you lots of money online without making one phone call. Ask me how?”
I’m going to tell you what I heard from one of the top marketers in the industry Russell Brunson when he said “The key to selling any product is not to sell the product. Your product should be an afterthought.” When I heard that I was like “Say what, now?!” The key to selling anything is learning how to brand yourself first. People don’t join your opportunity, they join you.
So enough with those annoying posts about your company and the company’s commissions and bonuses. People can’t stand that so stop showing offers and ads down people’s throats. Another thing, stop selling to everyone you think is looking for what you have. Instead, get clear on who your target market is. If your product is health & fitness, that’s who your target market is. Learn to build a know, like, and trust factor.
Where To Hunt Them Down?
Now that you stopped being pushy to all your friends, family, and strangers to your offer none of them are interested.
Seek out people in your niche and find where they congregate. The best place to start would be to look for leaders in your niche that have Fan pages.
Follow at least 5 of those leaders and start adding people as a friend. Also, start creating a Facebook group and add them to the group.
Create valuable content and learn how to be of service to your target audience.
Whatever you do, don’t bore them to death making it all about you and your business and spamming your group wall with offers.
Because they will leave your group if you continue to hound them. Nobody enjoys the company of desperate beggars.
Start thinking about what’s on your audience’s mind? What are their struggles? What keeps them up at night?
Learn how to create content that speaks to their pain. Learn how to have human-to-human conversations with your target market. CAH-PEESH?!?! Good
