The Problem With Social Media Engagement

I think about the old days of trying to get social media engagement and let me tell you, I sucked at it. I was the typical online marketing newbie doing what came naturally. And that was pitching, hounding, and harassing people literally begging one of them to join my opportunity.

With no experience and no clue what I was doing, not thinking about investing in coaching courses on how to build social media engagement, I felt like giving up on online business. I was furious hearing the word “no” or “let me think about it”.

I would say to myself “OMG! What’s so hard about starting something that’s gonna make you a ton of money? It’s a no-brainer, people. SHIT!” I started hating prospecting people.

But the real problem I failed to see was that it wasn’t the prospecting I hated, it was my fear of rejection that was getting in the way. It’s enough to make you go insane, so if that’s what you’re dealing with, you might want to stick around.

Building Your Own Tribe

You probably go into Facebook groups looking for anyone that you think might be interested in your opportunity so you message them “Hey there! I see we are in the same group and was wondering if you would be interested in taking a look at this program I’m part of that shows you how to make money online.

Are you interested?” You need to know who your target audience is and start building an audience that’s your target market. Find influencers in your niche, add at least 5 of them, and look for people in your niche and start adding them as your friends. Provide valuable content in your feed that will help solve their problems.

Consistency Is King

Learning how to engage with people on social media will take time. Don’t get so worked up because the numbers don’t work in your favor. Don’t obsess over the algorithms.

And don’t give up just because you think it’s not working. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither will your empire. If it were that easy, everyone would get rich. Continue posting every day.

When you are getting results in your business, talk about it. Don’t hard teach but give a little bit away so they will start asking for more. Dangle the carrot, never hard teach.

Conclusion

Keep in mind that people join you, not your program. Learn how to have human-to-human conversations with your audience. Bring them into your world. Because most don’t follow where you’re at, it’s where you’re going, and how you go about it is what gravitates them to you. BOOM!
